Immanuel GOD WITH US -Matthew 1:23-
* The Son will be called Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 * The Son is born. A prophecy is fulfilled. Matthew 1:23 * The Son is called Jesus. Luke 1:31 and Matthew 1:21 * The Son was rejected by all but a few people. John 1:10-13 * The Son went to be with His Father in Heaven. Hebrews 1:3 * The Father and the Son will return to earth to dwell with us. Revelation 21:3 & 22:3
"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" - which means "God with us" ( Matthew 1:23).

THE GIFTED CHURCH
"Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good." 1 Corinthians 12:7
Different kinds of gifts > For Church Leaders. Ephesians 4:11-13 > For each Christian according to the grace given us. Ephesians 4:7 > Christ apportions grace according to the gift(s). Ephesians 4:7 > To be used as we serve and work for God. Ephesians 2:10 > Given for the common good of the Church. > Given to every Christian. > As determined by the Holy Spirit. > For each Christian. 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, 28 Romans 12:6-8 > To be used as a unit, a body,(a team). Like the Trinity.

. Each One is given grace in the proportion determined by Jesus. Ephesians 4:17 . One body with many parts with One purpose and One Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 . One body & each member belongs to all the others. Romans 12:4,5 . All the believers were One in heart and One in mind. Acts 4:32 . One loaf, One body, One Christ. 1 Corinthians 10:17 . Jesus prays for all believers to be One as He and God are One. John 17:20,21

HELPING THE NEEDY
> Commanded to help the poor & needy. Deuteronomy 15:7-11 > Needs were met in the church. Acts 2:45;4:34 > Sold possessions, goods to help the needy Acts 2:45;4:37 > Helped widows, orphans with food. Acts 6:1, 5-7; James 1:27 > Welcomong children in Jesus name is like wel -coming Jesus & God. Mark 9:37 > Helping the least of Jesus brothers is like helping Jesus. Matthew 25:40 > Do to others what you want them to do for you. Matthew 7:12 > Blessed are the merciful. THE BREAKING OF BREAD THE BODY. THE BLOOD. * The early Christians broke bread together in their homes. * To be observed until Jesus returns. 1 Corinthians 11:26 * A participation in the body and blood of Jesus. 1 Corintians 10:16 * 1 loaf, 1 body, all partake of one loaf. 1 Corinthians 10:17 * 1 body, 1 Spirit, 1 hope, 1 Lord, 1 faith 1 baptism, 1 God, 1 Father. Ephesians 4:4 * There is unity of the Spirit in communion. Ephesians 4:3

THE B.I.B.L.E Yes! That's the book for me! The Bible is a collection of books written by divinely inspired men that contain a message from the very mouth of God. God's Word is trustworthy and true!
The Bible Is: * What the inspired apostles taught. Acts 2:42, John 16:13; 2Peter 1:16-21. * Trustworthy and true. Revelation 22:6 * Believable. God can't lie. Titus 1:2 * God breathed. 2 Timothy 3:16 * The very words of God. Roman 3:2 * Words of life. John 6:63 * God's judge. John 12:48 * God's truth. John 17:17 * Living and active. Hebrews 4:12 * The Word, which is Jesus. John 1:1

WHAT IS CHURCH?
+ On this rock I will build my Church. Matthew 16:18
+Great fear seized the whole Church. Acts 5:11
+A great persecution broke out against the Church. Acts 8:1
+Ekklesia - translated church, assembly and congregation - means a body of believers in Jesus "gathered"together.
+Christ is the head of the body, the Church Colossians 1:18
+The Church is made of Jesus Christ and people - men, women, boys, girls, sisters and brothers.
The Church devoted themselves to the *Apostles' teaching *fellowship *breaking of bread *prayer *giving to the needy. Acts 2:42, 45
+Let us not give up meeting together.... but let us encourage one another. Hebrews 10:25

SHARING MY TESTIMONY Mark 5:1-20 1. The Man Was Told To Go -Home to his family. vs 19 -We are told to "go and make disciples.." Matthew 28:19 -Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." Mark 16:15 2. The Man Was Told To Tell -How much the Lord has done for him, and how the Lord had mercy on him. vs 19 -"Do not be ashamed to testify about the Lord." 2 Timothy 1:8 -We too are to tell. Romans 10:14 3. The Man Was Obedient -He went and told the people. vs 20 -We too are to obey and do what the WORD says. James 1:22 "This is love for God: to obey His commands." 1 John 5:3 4. The People Were Amazed -All the people were amazed. vs 20 -All who heard the shepherds' message were amazed. Luke 2:18 -People were amazed at Jesus' teaching. Acts 4:32 -Now I must share my testimony!
Jesus said' "Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you. So the man went and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed." Mark 5:1-20

MISSING THE MARK Mark 6:14 -29 King Herod: Thought Jesus was John raised from the dead. vs 16 Disobeyed God's Law. Refused to repent. vs 17 Arrested, imprisoned John. vs 17 Feared John. vs 20 Was puzzled but liked listening to John. vs 20 Feared man. vs 26 Had John executed. vs 27
Herod Made A Decision: He heard the gospel but he rejected it. Herod was so close but he missed the mark.
What About Me? Have I missed the mark too? What shall I do? Acts 2:37 "Now is the day of salvation" 2 Corinthians 6:2
About Jesus people said," He is Elijah." and still others claimed,"He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of long ago." But when Herod heard this, he said, "John, the man I beheaded, has risen from the dead!" MARK 6:15

Conclussion: Millions of people are in darkness but most of them do not realize it John 1:5 proclaims that, "The light shines in the darkness" Christians are light bearers. Is your light shining to those in darkness? ________________________________________
A Mother's Love God wants a mother to: * Love God first and foremost (Deuteronomy 6:5; Matthew 6:33) * Teach her children God's Word (Deut.6:6-9; 2 Timothy 3:16) * Nurture her children God's way (2 Timothy 1:5)

Ephesians 2:10 - " For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do" *God has work for me to do *I am active in my Father's business *I live to make a difference for Jesus *I must take a stand for Jesus
